Foursquare, a location based social networking app for mobiles which makes it easy for users to check-in at locations with userfriendly options now has decided to split it’s app into two. The following updates on this particular topic is really going to define the future of the company and user’s take on it.
Foursquare started its services way back in 2009 by Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai that has an estimated value of $600 million. Even though they had a decent receiving in the market today, there was a remark on the foursquare application that it was more for a check-in purpose. Whereas it’s not just limited to check-in purpose but it has some more interesting things to offer.
Foursquare application splitting:
The Company in a statement announced that, Foursquare splits check-ins and local search into two and there is going to be a complete redesign of the application. Making it clear to their end users that, they are on their way back to offer something special.
Foursquare has recently tied up with Bing search engine for exporting the data at a value of $15 million. Which means that end users are not only getting the location based results but also heading towards something productive as far as the company is concerned.
In a statement, one of the spokesperson said,
“We believe local search should be personalized to your tastes and informed by the people you trust. The opinions of actual experts should matter, not just strangers An app should be able to answer questions like ‘give me a great date dinner spot’.”
Foursquare Introduces Swarm:
Understanding the current situation, the company has announced it’s idea of splitting the application into two so that it will come more in handy for the end users. And Swarm is what they have come up with. Swarm is one of the two applications foursqaure is developing which takes a perfect stand on social media. With Swarm, you can be constantly in touch with your friends, family and make check-ins in the simplest possible way.
What’s your inclination?
It’s obvious to put the question that way when you have 2 options in stock. Swarm or Foursquare? Which one would you pick? To be precise foursquare will always be the one for people who look for their favorite restaurants, malls and multiplex to hang around with their mates. And at the other end Swarm would serve people in a much better way which socializing can take a brand new stand all over.
