Will Inbox Replace Gmail? How True is That?

Have you come across this Inbox by Gmail? A new mobile application that will now take your Gmail experience to all new level. The purpose of inbox is to make Gmail accessible to smartphone users in much better way.  2 months after the launch of Inbox, there happened to be a question and answer session where biggies from Google have answered the users questions over the new application.
When asked about if Inbox will replace Gmail. This is what the officials had to answer.
In the short term, no. In the very long term, we hope so. Inbox is something new – that’s why we’re launching it as a separate product. We care deeply about Gmail and Gmail users, but in the long run as we add more features to Inbox and respond to user feedback we hope that everyone will want to use Inbox instead of Gmail. Ultimately, our users will decide.
As per the current trend and situation, Inbox has good chances of making it to the top. Gone are those days where people log into their Gmail accounts to have a look at their mails. But with this smart application, composing mails and files has become more easy. Also, you can have the best look at what others had to say. For instance, the newsletter and to the ones which you have subscribed over the months or may be years.
When also questioned about the unavailability of Inbox to Google Apps Paying Customers, the answer came for the Google officials is like,
Supporting these accounts comes with other demands and we’re working hard on addressing them so we can get Inbox to Google Apps users. We were pleasantly surprised to see how open-minded Inbox users are to making big changes to their work email workflow, and the high demand for Inbox on Google Apps accounts has already caused us to speed up our efforts to bring Inbox to all of you. Hang tight!
But all in all, the application is yet to be available for Windows Phone users. It obviously needs time to reach more people and we will have to see how much Inbox can really work for Google in the smartphone era.
Readers, what do you have in your mind? Will Inbox be the next big thing for Gmail? Have anything really interesting to share? Please do let us know in the comments section.
